At the suggestion of many friends, and with the help of a media company and others, Gary put together a selection of his poems and self-published his first book called 'A nod and a smile' in September 2003.

While Gary has encountered some resistance in the distribution of this book, he has also received some very positive feedback from many of the people who have read it. (You can view these comments by clicking here and following the links.) 

Over the intervening period ending 30 June 2008, Gary wrote 1589 poems, almost 500 hundred more than the same number of days (1095).  His total number of poems as at is poems. 

In 2008, Gary published four books under his publishing name 'Outside The Square Publishing.'
